NASA Space Center with Baron Hall

Today we visited the Johnson Space center with Baron Hall, a friend of Shannon's from high school. He is an engineer for Martin Marrietta, and is actually working on the current moon rocket program!!! It was a fantastically interesting time.

Baron is pointing to the new Orion capsule that his projects are for. He is working on the environmental controls and systems for the ship.

This is an actual Apollo moon-shot rocket !
Destin successfully landed the shuttle (simulator) several times

Drake flew this T-38 simulator using virtual reality vision goggles

Baron came with his two daughters, Erin and Alex, and a friend Shelby. In addition to the four of us, Jacob and Kyle came as well.

This was the shuttle mission control room, but the displays up on the big screens were showing the "Int'l Space Station" activities (because there are no shuttles aloft right now).

Looks like so much fun. The kids would love this place. I think Lucas is going grow up to be a pilot or astronaut. He is constantly trying to fly. He often says he wishes he had feathers. Recently, he told us of his latest idea--holding a plastic bag and jumping off the 2nd story verandah. Thank the Lord he told us of the plan beforehand. :)

I love your blog. It's great to see such nice pics of such great people. We love you all!
